The Oklahoma City Animal Shelter is open for adopting or reclaiming pets from noon to 5:45 p.m. every day except holidays at SE 29 & Bryant, 1.5 miles east of I-35.
Unwanted animals may be dropped off any day between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.
The Animal Welfare Division is responsible for promoting public health and safety, for temporarily sheltering and providing humane disposition of unwanted or lost animals, and for promoting animal welfare so that pet ownership is a pleasure for owners without becoming a burden to the community.
Although adopted pets are removed from our listings daily, there is still a chance a pet you see here may find a home before you arrive. But there are always plenty more! Come and visit the new shelter and meet all the pets who need a home.

How to Adopt
The Oklahoma City Animal Shelter is located at SE 29 and Bryant. Adoption hours are noon to 5:45 p.m., every day except holidays.
Where to Adopt
In addition to the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter, animal volunteer groups offer 'outreach' adoption services on the last Saturday of each month at the PetSmart location on I-240 between Penn and Western. Many of our cats are also available at the Midwest City PetSmart store every day, and two weeks a month at the Norman PetSmart.
If you have been bitten by an animal, you should seek medical attention immediately. Animal bites should be reported directly to the City at 405-297-2255. If you see an animal that is behaving abnormally, stay away from it and notify the City immediately. To report stray animals, barking dogs, animal cruelty or deceased animals, please use the Action Center Service Request Form.
Animal Welfare also disposes of dead animals for City residents and has humane traps for loan to catch stray cats and dogs.
Community education services, including a speakers bureau, are also available.
