(August 29, 2007) - Mayor Cornett is looking for citizens who would like to take part in shaping the Oklahoma River corridor. Applications are now being accepted for the Design Review Committee for the Scenic River Overlay Design District.
The new zoning overlay district along the Oklahoma River goes into effect October 15, 2007. The Design Review Committee will review and approve new development and major renovation plans for each of the six distinct Riverfront Design Districts that make up the Scenic River Overlay Design District.
“The new design review process is integral to creating a dynamic, pedestrian-friendly development zone along the river corridor,” Mayor Cornett said.
Persons with knowledge or experience in architecture, landscape architecture, planning, urban design, land development or construction services are encouraged to apply. Committee members will serve three-year terms and will be expected to attend committee meetings regularly. The committee will meet monthly.
