(October 18, 2007) - An open house will be held on November 1 to provide information to citizens and the downtown business community about the City’s plans to convert a section of downtown streets from one-way to two-way.
The come-and-go meeting will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. in the 10th floor conference room at Main Place, 420 West Main.
Streets to be addressed include North Hudson, North Harvey and North Robinson between NW 8th and NW 13th.
The improvements are being made to reduce motorist confusion and aid traffic flow.
A second meeting will be held in late winter to address the one-way to two-way conversion of North Hudson, North Harvey and North Robinson from NW 6th to NW 8th.
The conversion to two-way streets will begin in spring 2008, after 20 new traffic lights are installed and the streets are microsurfaced.
The $1.6 million street project is being funded through the general obligation bond issue approved by citizens in 2000. For more information, call 405 297-1525.
