Earlywine Family Aquatic Center temporarily closed for repairs

(July 17, 2009) - The City’s Earlywine Family Aquatic Center, SW 119 & May Ave, is closed until further notice in order to make emergency repairs to the main pool pump.  Repairs require that the pool be drained so crews may remove the pump, which weighs 2,500 pounds.

“It’s unfortunate this had to happen during our peak swimming season,” said Larry Kelley, Aquatics Manager for the Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation Department. “Crews are working diligently so we can reopen as soon as possible, hopefully by early next week.”

Earlywine Family Aquatic Center is one of two Family Aquatic Centers operated by Oklahoma City’s Parks and Recreation Department.  The other Family Aquatic Center is located at Will Rogers Park, 3201 N Grand Boulevard.
