Thunder practice facility groundbreaking set for Thursday; 8/27

 

WHO:
The City of Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma City Thunder

WHAT:
City and Thunder officials will break ground on the Oklahoma City Thunder’s new $10.1 million, 55,000 square-foot practice facility. 

Speakers will include Mayor Cornett, Councilman Ryan, Councilman Kelly, Stan Hupfeld, Clay Bennett and Sam Presti.

Oklahoma City residents passed a measure on March 4, 2008 to fund major improvements to the Ford Center and build an NBA practice facility through a 15-month, one-cent sales tax.  The tax began on January 1, 2009 and expires on March 31, 2010.
