MAPS 3 is a seven-year, nine-month one-cent sales tax. Collection of the sales tax will commence on April 1, 2010, the day after the conclusion of the sports facilities sales tax collection that voters approved in March, 2008. More

2007 Bond Program

Oklahoma City voters said yes to a $835.5 million G.O. Bond Issue to improve or replace our city’s infrastructure.
Projects include the repair of 750 miles of residential and arterial streets, repairing bridges, improving parks, addressing drainage systems, constructing sidewalks and trails, building new police and fire stations, replacing busses, updating libraries and providing incentives for economic development. Downtown Strategic Initiative

The Downtown Strategic Initiative (DSI) is a public planning process to ensure the continued momentum for downtown redevelopment and revitalization.

The DSI process began with a status check of all plans and policies in effect downtown. The recommendations from existing plans were then organized into five priorities, which form the basis of our citizen committees:

• Movin’ Around: Transit/Transportation, Walk/Bike-ability, Connectivity, Parking
• Doin’ Business: Real Estate/Vacancy, Incentives, Creative Business, Infrastructure
• Dressin’ It Up: Design and Appearance, Land Use,Street-Level Activity

MAPS for Kids

The OCMAPS school construction program includes more than 100 projects and is projected to cost approximately $470 million. It will take 10 years to complete all of the new buildings and renovations scheduled for 72 school sites throughout Oklahoma City Public School District I-89.

MAPS (Metropolitan Area Projects) is Oklahoma City's visionary capital improvement program for new and upgraded sports, recreation, entertainment, cultural and convention facilities. The projects began on December 14, 1993, when voters approved the MAPS sales tax, and were completed on August 17, 2004 with the dedication of the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library. More
