Drawings for OKC duck blinds to be held Sept. 16
Hunters gearing up for Oklahoma’s waterfowl at Lake Stanley Draper and the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge can participate in the Parks and Recreation Department’s annual drawing for blind locations at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.16. The drawings will take place at the Lake Draper Marina, 8301 SE 104th Street (east side of SE 104th and W Lake Draper Drive).
All drawing participants must be at least 18 years old. A daily or annual hunting permit is required to participate in the drawing. A daily permit is $3 and an annual hunting permit is $12.50. You can buy permits at authorized vendors or on site at the Lake Draper Marina. All permit purchases are final and no refunds can be issued.
A copy of the blind site locations and hunting regulations will be posted at the drawing site. Ducks and geese must be hunted from designated blind sites. Bank hunting and hunting from watercraft are prohibited. Any watercraft used to transport hunters to and from blind locations must have a current city boating permit.
All federal and state laws regarding the hunting of migratory waterfowl, as well as City ordinances, will be enforced. Per City ordinance, no person shall hunt, shoot, trap, capture or kill permitted ducks and geese with anything other than a shotgun, no larger than 10-gauge, using non-toxic shells not larger in diameter than size-BB.
For more information about the City’s duck and goose hunting regulations, contact the Santa Fe Briefing Station at (405) 297-1190 and ask for the lake supervisor or the Lake Draper Marina at (405) 799-0870.
