Adoption fees

  • Dogs and cats: $60.
    • $30 for dogs or cats available for adoption for more than two weeks.
    • $30 for two or more dogs or cats adopted together.
    • $30 for dogs or cats 4 years old and up.
    • $30 for dogs or cats with certain medical conditions.
    • Stay in touch with Animal Welfare for updates on discounted or free adoption specials.
  • Fowl: Current market price.
  • Horses: Current market price or $300, whichever is greater.
  • Other animals: Half the current market price.

Impoundment fees and deposits

Dogs and cats

  • $8 registration of at-large or unconfined dog.  
  • $58 impoundment fee (areas without rabies observation).
  • $20 boarding and care per day (or fraction thereof).
  • Actual costs billed for veterinary care.
  • $5 reduction to impoundment fee for a dog or cat wearing a current rabies vaccination tag, owner ID tag or has a current microchip with up-to-date owner information registered.

Livestock

  • $100 impoundment fee.
  • $100 return to enclosure fee.
  • $50 boarding and care per day.
    • $29 additional fee for livestock in special handling areas (rabies observation or isolation areas)
  • $50 veterinary health check fee.
  • Actual costs billed for veterinary care.
  • $100 minimum charge per officer for up to two hours for livestock calls.
  • $100 chemical immobilization fee.
  • Fees doubled for loose bulls or stallions.

Fowl

  • $23 board and care fee per day.

Special handling fees

  • $20 for rabies vaccination.
  • $20 for DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, Leptospira, parvovirus and parainfluenza) or DA2PP (distemper hepatitis/adenovirus, parvovirus, parainfluenza) vaccinations.
  • $20 for FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia) vaccination.
  • $20 for Bordetella vaccination.
  • $25 rabies observation processing fee.
  • Fees may be waived in whole or in part by the superintendent for hardship or special cases involving pet owner death, owner incarceration, owner in hospital, to rectify adoption disputes and for similar situations in the best interests of all parties.

Other fees

  • $15 relinquishment fee, per animal, for non-Oklahoma City residents.
  • $30 relinquishment fee per litter of three or more animals for non-Oklahoma City residents.
  • $53 fee for euthanasia per animal.
  • $17 fee for dead animal disposal (non-Oklahoma City residents and businesses only).

License and permit fees

  • $17 per kennel per year for dogs and cats.
  • $20 fee for review of plans and specifications by the Oklahoma City-County Health Department.
  • $40 fee for Oklahoma City-County Health Department inspection.
  • $10 fee for rabbit permit per hutch per year.
  • $25 fee for primate license, per animal per year.
  • $100 fee for primate breeder license per breeder per year.
