Candidates/Campaign Committees
A candidate is an individual who has filed or should have filed a Statement of Organization for a Campaign Committee with the City Clerk. A Campaign Committee includes committees for all elective municipal offices for which Declarations of Candidacy are filed with the Oklahoma County Election Board.
Ethics Reports
Statement of Organization – must be filed within 10 days after a candidate has accepted or spent more than $1,000 for their campaign.
Campaign Contribution Reports Required in Election Years
- January 1-31 for the period beginning October 1 of the preceding year and ending December 31 of the preceding year;
- No earlier than 14 days nor later than eight days before the primary election for the period beginning December 31 of the preceding year and ending 15 days before the primary election;
- No earlier than 14 days nor later than eight days before the general election for the period beginning 15 days before the primary election and ending 15 days before the general election (if election held).
- Quarterly thereafter, as in non-election years.
Campaign Contribution Reports Required in Non-Election Years
- January 1-31 for the period beginning at the end of the pre-general election reporting period from the preceding year and ending December 31 of the preceding calendar year.
- April 1-30 for the period beginning January 1 and ending March 31 of the same year;
- July 1-31 for the period beginning April 1 and ending June 30 of the same year and;
- October 1-31 for the period beginning July 1 and ending September 30 of the same year.
Candidate Committee Continuing Reports
Contributions that exceed $1,000 in the aggregate that are received after the close of the pre-election reporting period until the last two days before the election. Due within 24 hours after the contribution is accepted.
