How to get a Solar permit

Step 1 (optional)

Solar App+ expedited review (roof-mount residential systems only)

The expedited review of Roof-Mount residential solar panel (photovoltaic) systems may be completed voluntarily by visiting the SolarApp+ website. There you will be prompted to register your account prior to submitting your proposed plans for review through their system. SolarApp+ reserves the right to charge an independent and minimal fee for processing which is in no way related to The City of Oklahoma City. You will receive certified documents from SolarApp+ once they have completed their review and you may then upload this documentation, along with the rest of our required information, through our Citizens Access Portal as shown in Step 2 below.

Step 2

Citizens Access Portal (commercial and residential)

• Ground-mount and commercial solar panel (photovoltaic) systems may be uploaded for review where you will need to submit your project as a "building" permit.
• Roof-mount solar panel (photovoltaic) systems may be submitted with, or without, using the SolarApp+ certification by uploading your documents for review where you will need to submit your project as an "Electrical - Residential Solar Install" permit.
• Submittal requirements for Solar Panel permits may be found here.
• SolarApp+ may reserve the right to require further information and details prior to issuing their own certification.
