For decades, Edwards Park, 1515 N Bryant Ave., has been home to many youth football programs. Now, the park’s athletic fields are getting some much-anticipated upgrades. Contractors are scrapping the existing three youth football fields and replacing them with four new football fields.

The Oklahoma City Council on Tuesday adopted the City Manager’s 2025 budget. Visit okc.gov/budget to see the budget book. The operating budget, which pays for day-to-day operations, is $918 million.The adopted budget includes funding for 5,117 full-time positions, an increase of nine from FY 24.

A section of the Greenway River Trail between the Boathouse District and Eastern Avenue is closed for one year, and a section of the south side of the Oklahoma River Trail between Eastern and Eagle Lake will close for nine months.

Construction has begun on a bike and pedestrian bridge that will span the Oklahoma River at Eastern Avenue, north of OKANA Resort and Indoor Waterpark. The MAPS 4 pedestrian bridge will connect the trail on the south shore to the four-mile Greenway River Trail on the north shore.
