Park Department MenuBob Akers Park
This park is named for prominent southeast Oklahoma City business man Robert M. "Bob" Akers who developed property and owned several automotive businesses in the area. Along with his son Dwain, Akers was a pioneer of the concept of "total car care" and they built a massive service center at SE 15 and Central in the 1960s for auto sales, parts and repair all under one roof. This park is built on land Akers owned and was acquired from his estate in 1976.
