The Oklahoma City Ambassadors is a program within the Department’s Special Protection Events & Emergency Response (SPEER) Unit whose primary goal is being goodwill ambassadors for the City of Oklahoma City at special events, in downtown Oklahoma City, Bricktown, and Riverfront. The Oklahoma City Ambassadors were created in 2003 with start-up funding from a federal grant.

Oklahoma City Ambassadors will provide information and assistance to citizens, assist with traffic control, and serve as extra “eyes and ears” for the Police Department. Oklahoma City Ambassador Representatives will be easily identifiable but distinguishable from Oklahoma City Police Officers. Oklahoma City Ambassadors do not possess any police powers.
