Oklahoma City’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed Thursday, Sept. 26, for maintenance and will reopen Friday, Sept. 27. The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 1621 S Portland Ave. accepts a variety of hazardous materials from residents’ homes year-round.

OKC Parks and the North OKC Soccer Club officially cut the ribbon on the first phase of remodeling and expansion at C.B. Cameron Sports Complex. The $5 million athletic complex is funded through the Better Streets, Safer City bond program, passed by voters in 2017.

Oklahoma City Council approved final plans today for the first phase of neighborhood connectivity improvements in the Innovation District as part of MAPS 4. This project, located in Northeast OKC, will enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety in the Innovation District and the surrounding area.

Tourism in Oklahoma City will get a much-needed boost following voter approval on Aug. 27 to increase the City’s portion of the hotel tax from 5.50% to 9.25%. The new rate will take effect Oct. 1. The tax is charged to people who stay overnight in a hotel or rent a home-sharing property in OKC.
