Needs
Every Oklahoma City resident and taxpayer is a landlord – the City owns dozens of buildings of all sizes and uses, from high-profile sports and entertainment venues to libraries, maintenance garages and office buildings. Bonds provide an inexpensive way to pay for maintenance and enhancement.
Community Benefits
Extending the life of public buildings is a responsible way to manage investments made with taxpayer money. Proper maintenance and needed renovations paid for by inexpensive funding sources saves money by avoiding deterioration and expensive emergency repairs or rebuilds.
Examples from the 2007 Bond Program
Numerous City-owned buildings benefited from renovation, maintenance or upgrades funded by the most recent bond program.
