Jason Brown, Ward 4

headshot of Jason BrownI am the youngest of four, and my father was an Air Force pilot. We moved around quite a bit but came to Oklahoma right before my sophomore year in high school, and I have called Oklahoma my home since that time. I graduated from Christian Heritage Academy In 1993 and had no plans to attend college. I worked briefly at a gas station and then hung sheetrock for two years. I became interested in firefighting and was hired at the Norman Fire Department in March 1996. During this time, I had also been working on my Paramedic degree and was hired at Norman Regional Hospital as a paramedic in September 1997, working full-time as a firefighter and part-time as a paramedic. My paramedic studies sparked an interest in medicine, and I completed my undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Oklahoma. In August 2009, I was accepted into medical school and left the fire department. I completed my medical degree in 2013. After medical school, I completed a residency in Surgery at Marshall University in West Virginia and a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the University of Hawaii. Following this, I accepted a position at Integris Medical Group and currently practice in Yukon as a surgeon, along with monthly duties in the Neuro ICU at Baptist Hospital.

I married my wife, Rebecca, in 2003, and we have five children. She teaches high school Physics and Chemistry. We enjoy outdoor life and keeping up with our kids in their school activities. We attend church at Grace Place in southeast Oklahoma City.
