Portion of South Eastern Avenue closed for water line installation
Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 29, a portion of South Eastern Avenue between Southeast 15th Street and American Indian Boulevard will be closed for about four months while contractors for the Oklahoma City Utilities Department install a new water line in the area.

OKC Street crews ready to treat bridges and overpasses along City snow routes
Strike crews from Oklahoma City’s Public Works Department will report to work at midnight tonight to monitor bridges and overpasses along the City’s snow routes. Six trucks mounted with salt spreaders will treat slick spots if ice begins to form.

OKC seeks input on updated cycling and pedestrian master plan
Oklahoma City residents and trail users are invited to give their feedback on proposed updates to the City’s comprehensive bike and pedestrian plan, bikewalkokc. People can visit okc.gov/bikewalkokc to read the 137-page draft plan and submit comments through Sept. 15.

OKC receives grant to reduce fatalities on City streets
Oklahoma City was awarded an $800,000 Action Plan Grant this week from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). This grant, combined with $200,000 in matching funds from the City, will fund the creation of a detailed plan to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries to drivers, transit riders

Beginning today, Jan. 23, a portion of Western Avenue between Main and NW 4th Streets is closed for about five months while crews with the Oklahoma City Utilities Department install a new sewer line in the area.

City pilots beet juice in fight to de-ice bridges
Oklahoma City’s Public Works Department is looking to bring a new product to their snow-fighting arsenal: beet juice. The pilot program will see how the potion performs on select bridges and overpasses this weekend in OKC.

Temporary closure of Wilshire Boulevard from Morgan Road to Sara Road
Beginning Friday, Aug. 12, Wilshire Boulevard will be temporarily closed from Morgan Road to Sara Road. The closure is expected to last through fall 2022, subject to weather and other factors.
