The Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust is the state’s largest provider of drinking water, treating and delivering an average of 100 million gallons of water every day to more than 1.4 million residents through retail and wholesale service connections. The Trust also provides wastewater and trash collection services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers across Central Oklahoma.
We are committed to providing water, wastewater, and trash collection services throughout central Oklahoma to safeguard public health and the environment, support public safety, and enable economic prosperity.
Public trusts
The Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust (OCWUT) is the policy-making body for water, wastewater, and solid waste management systems. The trust ensures Oklahoma City residents and businesses receive outstanding, quality water, wastewater, and trash collection services and that these services operate efficiently, effectively, and professionally.
The OCWUT has five trustees: The Mayor, a Council Member, the City Manager and two citizens who are suggested by the Mayor and approved by the Oklahoma City Council.
The Lake Atoka Reservation Association (LARA) which was created by the City of Oklahoma City, the OCWUT, and the City of Atoka in 1974 to administer use of the water reservoir, its resources, and facilities.
The LARA has eight board members: The Mayors of Oklahoma City and the City of Atoka, City Manager of Oklahoma City, Chairman of the OCWUT, one person appointed by the City of Oklahoma City, and three citizens of Atoka County appointed by the City of Atoka.
The McGee Creek Authority (MCA) became responsible for the care, operation, and maintenance of the McGee Creek reservoir and dam in September 1990. Participants of the MCA are the Southern Oklahoma Development Trust, the City of Atoka, the County of Atoka, the OCWUT, and The City of Oklahoma City.
The MCA has five trustees: the Mayors of Oklahoma City and the City of Atoka, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Atoka County, Chairman of OCWUT, and Chairman of the Southern Oklahoma Development Trust.
