Utilities Department MenuFree Landfill Day
Periodically, Oklahoma City water and residential solid waste customers can take old junk and debris
to a local landfill for free.
Free landfill days usually take place in May and September, and there are typically two per year.
The next Free Landfill Day will take place in Saturday, September 7, 2024.
What is accepted: Regular household trash, furniture, appliances, bagged leaves and landscape waste, and other acceptable bulky items. Please note that Northeast Landfill only accepts construction and demolition debris, including drywall, rocks, bricks and concrete. See below for participating landfills.
What is not accepted: household hazardous waste, tires, oils, automotive parts, pool chemicals, automotive parts, car batteries, propane tanks, electronic waste and appliances containing Freon or other refrigerants are not accepted. (Call Customer Service at (405) 297-2833 to arrange for special appliance pick-up for items with Freon or other refrigerants.)
How much can I take?
Each residential household may drop off one load using a passenger vehicle or truck up to a 1-ton and one trailer up to 16-feet long. Commercial waste haulers are not allowed.
Do I have to show an ID?
All customers must present an original current Oklahoma City trash bill, or show proof of account via ebill using the My OKC Utilities app on their smartphone.
