Runoff April 4 for Ward 5 City Council seat
Polls will open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. April 4 for a runoff election for Ward 5 City Council representation between Matt Hinkle and Thuan Hieu Nguyen. Ward 5 is located in far south Oklahoma City. All registered voters in Wards 5 are eligible to vote. See a Ward map at okc.gov/WardMap.

City to host spring cleaning event April 1 for computers, tires, ammunition and medication
Oklahoma City will host a special collection for computers, tires, ammunition and prescription medication from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the OKC Fairgrounds. This event is a great way to get rid of these unwanted items as residents begin spring cleaning.

City Council selects operator for MAPS 4 homelessness project
The Oklahoma City Council voted today to select Oklahoma City Housing Authority (OCHA) as the operating partner for the homelessness project in MAPS 4. MAPS 4 includes $55.76 million for affordable housing options in the Oklahoma City market.

Oklahoma City will host a special collection for unwanted computers, tires, ammunition and prescription medications from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the OKC Fairgrounds. The drop off site will be on the south side of the fairgrounds, east of the Jim Norick Arena.

Oklahoma City Council approved lowering the curfew for the Bricktown Entertainment District from 11 p.m. to 9 p.m. for people younger than 18 who are unaccompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.

Construction begins on MAPS 3 and 4 OKC Fairgrounds Coliseum
City leaders broke ground today on the MAPS 3 and 4 OKC Fairgrounds Coliseum. The 216,164-square-foot coliseum will be operated by Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. at the OKC Fairgrounds. Construction is scheduled to be complete in 2025. The Jim Norick Arena will continue to host events.

Animal Welfare challenges OKC to adopt 200 dogs in eight days
OKC Animal Welfare is waiving fees for dogs 40 pounds and over as part of its challenge to home 200 dogs in eight days. The challenge ends Feb. 25 with a live fashion show with the adoptable dogs as models.

OKC Parks brings ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ to Civic Center Music Hall

OKC receives grant to reduce fatalities on City streets
