City of OKC
Planning Department MenuBricktown urban Design District
The general boundaries of the Bricktown Core Development District are the BNSF Railroad, Reno Avenue, Interstate 235 and the railroad right-of-way between Main and NE 1st streets.
The Bricktown Urban Design District's regulations and guidelines are intended to preserve the district's warehouse flavor while promoting commercial and retail development.
The Downtown Design Commission and staff review review new construction and expansions or alternations of building exteriors within the Bricktown Urban Design District. The Commission also reviews proposals for demolition, murals, Planned Unit Developments, subdivisions and City projects like parks, monuments, public art, landmarks and bridges within the district, and issue or deny Certificates of Approval based on their findings. Decisions may be appealed to the Board of Adjustment.
