The Housing and Community Development Division manages numerous federal and state grants that support development of affordable housing, revitalization of neighborhoods, economic development and homeless assistance.
The division is responsible for the Consolidated Plan (PDF), which prescribes use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program funds. We also administer the Murrah Economic Development Loan Program.
Housing programs encompass acquisition, rehabilitation and new construction, emergency home repair, home exterior maintenance program, and a down payment/closing cost assistance program for income eligible homebuyers. The division oversees more than 50 federal, state and city-funded grants with a value in excess of $30 million. The division also houses the award-winning Brownfields program, which provides financial assistance for environmental site assessments and clean-up to support redevelopment projects.
