Guten Tag! Public art in OKC went international last week as 20 students from Berlin, Germany, ventured on an art tour of iconic OKC artworks. The students heard directly from local artists Denise Duong and Gabriel Friedman as they viewed “The Unexpected Us” at Scissortail Park. From Bricktown to First National, the students experienced various public artworks. This unique opportunity is part of an exchange between Classen SAS High School @ NE and Käthe Kollwitz Elite School in Berlin.

Happy #ArtsandHumanitiesMonth, OKC! How do Arts and Humanities fit together, you ask? Caroline Lowery from Oklahoma Humanities said it best. “If Art is the what. Humanities are the why.” Thank you to artists, curators, galleries, researchers, teachers, buyers and anyone who loves Arts and Humanities. A special shout-out to Rei Wang and Brian Belanus, who graced City Hall with some jazz before this morning's OKC City Council Meeting.
