The Council approved permits Tuesday for:
- Cupid Charities' "Cupid's Undie Run," Feb. 13.
- DG Productions' "Run Lucky 5K and Mission Mile Fun Run," March 6.
Agreement approved for interior artwork at new Police HQ
The Council voted Tuesday to approve an agreement with Counterpoint Studio for a public art display inside the new Oklahoma City Police Department headquarters building. The $40,000 contract is part of the City of OKC's 1% for Art ordinance, which requires 1 percent of the construction budget for public projects to be spent on public art. The new police headquarters, 700 Colcord Drive, opened in November and features exterior artwork honoring fallen officers.

CBA agreement reached with police union
The Council also voted Tuesday to approve a new collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 123. The agreement establishes pay, benefits and other issues for police officers for fiscal year 2015-15 and is retroactive to July 1.

Proposed ordinance would limit panhandling near elementary schools, expand buffer zone around bus stops and other places
A proposed ordinance introduced Tuesday would prohibit panhandling within 50 feet of elementary schools and extend a buffer zone from 20 feet to 50 feet where panhandling is prohibited near City of OKC bus stops, restaurant patios and other areas. The ordinance is set for a public hearing Jan. 26 and a vote Feb. 9.
EMBARK ridership rising as two new night routes begin
Ridership of EMBARK buses is increasing, and two more night routes begin service next week, Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority Director Jason Fehrbrache told the Council in an update. Hourly service between 7 p.m. and midnight begins Jan. 26 for Route 011, a SW/SE 29th Street crosstown, and Route 23N, a NW/NE 23rd Street crosstown. The most recent annual statistics show weekday riders per service hour has increased, reversing a two-year decline.
