Portion of N. May Ave. near 150th closed for water main repair
The far-right southbound lane of May Avenue near N. 144th Street is closed for the next several hours while crews with the Oklahoma City Utilities Department work to repair a 16” water main break in the area.

OKC to allow temporary signs in the City’s right of way with a permit
The City of Oklahoma City will start allowing temporary signs to be placed in many City rights of ways with a permit starting March 15. The City’s right of way is typically the area between the street curb and the sidewalk and includes medians and alleys.

OKC Street crews ready to treat snow routes
Oklahoma City Street crews are monitoring the weather ahead of snow and ice forecast for Central Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday. Trucks mounted with plows and salt spreaders are ready to respond if snow or ice begins to accumulate along the City’s snow routes.

The City’s next one-stop hiring event on Feb. 13 will offer interviews for technical positions such as building maintenance mechanics, irrigation technicians, industrial electricians and industrial heat and air mechanics, elevator and electrical inspectors and plant operators.

OKC Parks to host Adaptive Valentine Dance, Adaptive Black History Month Celebration
Will you be our Valentine? Valentine’s Day fun is meant for everyone. OKC Parks is holding an Adaptive Valentine Dance at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Sellers Recreation Center, 8301 S Villa Ave. This dance is for anyone 17 or older with disabilities. There will be music, dancing and more.

Portion of North Western Avenue closed for water line repair
The southbound lanes of N. Western Ave. between NW 138th and NW 142nd Streets will be closed to traffic while crews with the Oklahoma City Utilities Department repair a 12” water main. Northbound traffic will be narrowed to one lane to allow for southbound traffic.

OKC Utilities customer portal, mobile app and kiosks temporarily unavailable until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, alternative payment option available
All systems were scheduled to be operational by 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. However, we are extending system maintenance for okcutilities.com, the My OKC Utilities mobile app, and all PaySite kiosks until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.

City’s Strong Neighborhoods Initiative purchases former Dewey Elementary School to create Ward 7 park
In late December, the City of Oklahoma City closed on a 4.22-acre property, which includes the former Dewey Elementary School located at 3500 N Lindsay Ave. The Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation Department and the Planning Department’s Strong Neighborhoods Initiative (SNI) requested to the purchase.
